The Quokka Silver Coin was produced in a limited edition of 30,000 copies.
It is the second installment of a series launched last year. It depicts the short-tailed Kuoka - a small mammal resembling a miniature kangaroo in appearance. Once mistaken for a rat, today the kuoka is regarded as one of Australia's friendlier animals - it doesn't shy away from people, doesn't run away from cameras, and is even eager to pose for photos delighting delighted tourists.
The motif on the reverse of the bullion coin is a friendly Quokka with her young. The animals are surrounded by nature - flowers, butterflies and other animals. At the top of the coin was the inscription Quokka, and on the right was the sign "P" - the symbol of the Perth mint. On the obverse of the coin you will find the right profile of Queen Elizabeth II along with the denomination - 1 AUD, the weight of the coin and the silver sample.
