Srebrna Moneta Chinese Myths: Four Guardians 2024,1 uncja

This year's coin is inspired by the four mythical guardians.

Introducing the latest installment in the series, which features four mythical Chinese guards known as Si Xiang. They play a key role in Chinese mythology and tradition. Each of these guardians symbolizes one of the four sides of the world and the element associated with it. The Blue Dragon of the East (Qinglong) is responsible for the east and the element of wood, while the White Tiger of the West (Baihu) protects the west and represents metal. The Red Phoenix of the South (Zhuque) guards the south, associated with the element of fire, and the Black Tortoise of the North (Xuanwu) represents the north and the element of water, often depicted as a combination of a tortoise and a snake. These mystical creatures have for centuries been a symbol of protection, harmony and balance in Chinese cosmology.

On the reverse of the silver investment coin, we are presented with all four mythical guardians. In the center is placed Xuanwu in the form of a turtle connected to a snake, above them walks Baihu, and above them in the air is Zhugue. At the very bottom we see the silhouette of the dragon, Qinglong. The obverse features a portrait of the current ruler of Great Britain, King Charles III, along with the weight, silver proof and denomination of the coin.
