Copper Round Nordic Creatures: Frost Giant, 1 oz

The Ice Giants were descendants of Ymir, the first giant created from the milk of frost.

Norse mythology abounds with diverse and fascinating creatures, and some of the most powerful are the Ice Giants. Also known as Jotnar or Hrimthursar, the giants were beings associated with cold, frost and ice, making them important figures in the Norse pantheon. One of the most important themes associated with the Ice Giants is the conflict between them and the gods, called Ragnarok. According to Norse mythology, Ragnarok is a great apocalypse in which the giants will be freed from their prisons and face the gods in a final battle, leading to the destruction of the world.

The reverse of the copper medal is decorated with the image of the Ice Giant, hunting among the icy Nordic lands. In one hand the mighty creature holds a captured body while in the other a weapon in the form of a large spiked mace. On the back of the disc is placed the image of the mighty tree of the "roots of the world of Yggdrasil", next to which we can read information about the weight and the sample of the bullion.
