An interesting copper alternative for precious metals enthusiasts and investors.
Introducing the popular copper medal in a 2 ounce variant. The Aztec Sun Stone, also known as the Piedra del Sol, is a giant basalt disk about 3.6 meters (12 feet) in diameter and weighing about 24 tons that was discovered in Mexico. It is one of the most impressive works of Aztec art and is considered one of the most important cultural monuments of the people. The stone is engraved with a complex relief, which is interpreted as a cosmic concept of time according to Aztec beliefs.
The centerpiece of the reverse is the huge face of the Sun god, Tonatiuh, surrounded by rings representing days, months and cosmic eras. Surrounding this face are symbols representing various aspects of Aztec cosmology, including symbols of the six eras of the world, known as the "Sun." Each of these eras had its own history and ended with the destruction of the world. The other side of the cylinder depicts the likeness of Cuautehmoc, who was the last Aztec ruler before the Spanish conquest. He was the son of chief Ahuitzotl and nephew of Montezuma II. Cuautehmoc is to this day considered one of the greatest heroes in Mexican history and a symbol of resistance against the colonizers. His name and image are frequently used in Mexican culture, including in music, film and literature.
