In Aboriginal myths, the kookaburra appears as a being endowed with extraordinary magical powers and supernatural abilities, highlighting its special significance in Australian folklore. The silver coins in the Australian Kookaburra series present this bird symbol in a different setting each year.

The reverse of the 2025 coin depicts a kookaburra sitting on a tree branch. At the top of the coin is the name of the coin along with a mention of the anniversary issue, while the year of issue and technical specifications are listed on the left. At the very bottom, the sweat of the bird's silhouette shows the miniature artwork that was featured on the first issue in the series. The obverse features a portrait of King Charles II of Great Britain, along with the denomination of one Australian dollar.
