Copper Round Nordic Creatures: Garm, 1 oz

Copper Medal Garm is the fourth installment in a series about Norse beasts of legends.

zł15.00

Another value from the Nordic Creatures collection referring to Norse mythology.

In the rich Norse mythology, Garm is one of the dark creatures that plays an important role in the description of the land of the dead, known as Helheim. It is a fearsome dog that guards the gates leading to this realm - symbolizing the danger that awaits those who go there. Garm acts as a guardian of the gates making sure that no one returns from Helheim to the land of the living. The creature is also a symbol of the inevitability of death and the non-return to the land of the dead.

The reverse of the copper coin depicts a huge dog, Garm, chained just outside the gate leading to the land of the dead of Helheim. The obverse of the medal, as in previous editions, presents a tree called the roots of the world of Yggdrasil, next to which a lurking snake and a deer standing next to it have been placed. From the reverse, we will learn the copper sample and weight of the medal.
