Nidhoggr, is one of the most mysterious and disturbing creatures in Norse mythology. It is a dragon that inhabits the roots of the world - the Yggdrasil tree. According to Norse mythology, Yggdrasil is a huge tree that connects the nine cosmic worlds. The roots of the tree sink into the underground realms where Nidhoggr finds his lair. The dragon is known as a devourer of dead souls and a symbol of destruction, gnawing at the roots of Yggdrasil in an attempt to destroy them. The creature is a symbol of destruction and chaos.

The reverse of the presented copper medal depicts the fearsome dragon Nidhoggr, sitting on its lair in the depths of the Yggdrasil tree. What strikes the eye is the beast's huge maw and its huge, spiky wings. On the reverse of the coin is an image of the huge Yggdrasil tree - the roots of the world. Next to the tree we will see a deer, next to which a snake lurks watching it.
