Athena is the leading motif of the next coin in the God of Olympus series .

The figure of Athena, one of the 12 major Olympian gods, has been immortalized on another fifth edition silver coin. She was identified with wisdom, art and just war , she took care of Athens and Sparta. Athena was the daughter of the god of lightning Zeus, the highest of the gods, ruler of heaven and earth. Her mother was Metis, the goddess of reason and prudence. According to legend, she sprang from a wound on her father's head clad in shining armor and uttering a war cry.

The reverse of this silver coin shows Athena in a fighting stance, preparing to throw a javelin; she is clad in armor, holding a shield in her right hand. An owl flies above her, a snake crawls under her feet. In the background one can see a fragment of the Greek scenery - an olive tree, fragments of buildings - including the temple of Athena on the Acropolis. The obverse shows a classic right profile of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a crown, along with information on the coin's material, year of issue, denomination and country.
