Rwanda continues its Lunar series, highly prized by collectors, with an issue dedicated to the Year of the Goat. The Goat, the eighth sign of the Chinese zodiac, symbolizes peace, harmony, kindness, and creativity. According to tradition, people born under its sign are characterized by sensitivity, empathy, and a gentle disposition. The Year of the Goat returns every twelve years, and its beginning is determined according to the Chinese lunar calendar. The Chinese New Year is one of the most important holidays in Far Eastern culture, celebrated with family in an atmosphere of joy and rich traditions.

The reverse of the coin features a strikingly stylized image of a goat, rendered using geometric elements characteristic of the Lunar series. The edge bears the year of issue, the name of the series, and information regarding the weight and fineness of the silver. The obverse depicts the coat of arms of the Republic of Rwanda, beneath which is the coin’s face value of 50 Rwandan francs.
