According to legend, the newly crowned ruler of Bohemia set out on a journey, during which he encountered a dramatic clash between a lion and a dragon. The prince, not being indifferent, helped the animal king defeat the beast. As a token of gratitude, the lion became his faithful companion and a symbol of strength and loyalty. From then on, the Bohemian lion did not leave the ruler even an inch, becoming a permanent part of the national identity of the Czechs.
