A collector's variant of the 2 ounce silver coin.

The latest installment in the series from Germania Mint dedicated to the Order of Malta this time depicts the siege of Malta in 1565. This was the most important military clash in the island's history, in which the Order of Knights faced off against the Ottoman Empire. It was considered a watershed moment, as the Empire's expansion was then halted.

The reverse of the coin shows a Maltese knight standing face to face with a soldier of Sultan Lal Mustafa Pasha. In the background can be seen ships of the Ottoman fleet storming the castle walls. The Knight of the Order's breastplate has been further enhanced with gilding. The obverse of the coin depicts the coat of arms of the Central Bank of Malta. It is placed on a shield, which in turn is held by a knight. The coin has a face value of 5 Euros and is legal tender.

The coin comes with a personalized certificate and author's packaging.
