Silver Coin 10 Francs 1929-1939, 10g
Silver circulating coin with a weight of 10 grams and a silver purity of 0.680
A 10 franc coin issued between 1929 and 1939.
Between 1929 and 1939, France issued silver coins with a face value of 10 francs, which are still of interest to collectors today. Although their face value was relatively small, these coins were distinguished by their solid workmanship and interesting historical context. The coin was minted during a period of economic and political instability - between the Great Depression and the outbreak of World War II. At that time, silver coins were gradually pushed out of circulation due to rising production costs. The issuance of the 10-franc coin ended in 1939, and just a few years later cheaper counterparts made of less valuable metals were introduced.
The obverse of the coin shows a woman's head wearing a wreath of oak leaves - an allegory of the French Republic, symbolizing the strength and steadfastness of the nation. The reverse shows the nominal value of "10 FRANCS," the date and the motto "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité," the motto of the French Republic. In the background is the motif of a sheaf of grain, a symbol of labor and prosperity.
Presented coin is a circulation coin, may have scratches, abrasions and dings. The photo is illustrative - the shipped coin may differ in its state of preservation. We send the coin randomly - it is not possible to indicate a specific vintage.
