Silver Coin 10 Francs Hercules 1965 - 1972, 25g
Silver circulation coin with the image of Hercules, weighing 25 grams.
The currency is an interesting alternative to popular bullion coins.
We present a silver circulation coin with the image of Hercules - a Roman hero whose cult later merged completely with the Greek Heracles. He was extremely revered in Rome, and soldiers often courted him. The coin dates from the period of the Fifth Republic, was designed by the Bank of France's Chief Engraver Augustin Dupree, and its first version from 1795 is very similar to those minted today.
The reverse of the presented coin is decorated with an image of Hercules, flanked by the silhouettes of two women - the personification of Liberty with a Phrygian cap in her hand and Equality holding an archipendulum, a masonry instrument resembling a spirit level. On the obverse of the coin we will see a braided wreath of oak and laurel, in which the denomination of 10 francs is placed. From the obverse we will learn the date of issue of the coin.
The presented coin is a circulation coin and may have minor scratches, abrasions and dings. The coin has an issue date between 1965 and 1972.
