Icons of Inspiration: Johannes Gutenberg 2024, 1 oz Silver Coin

The silver investment value this time was dedicated to the person of Johannes Gutenberg. He was a German inventor, printer and goldsmith who lived in the 15th century. He was probably born around 1400 and died between 1468 and 1469. He is best known for his revolutionary invention, the mechanical printing press. His most important achievement was the creation of printing technology, which enabled the mass production of books and other writing materials. The most famous work he printed using his printer was the "Gutenberg Bible," probably completed around 1455. It was one of the first works printed using movable type, which had a huge impact on the development of culture and education, enabling the mass distribution of text.

On the reverse of the silver coin we can see the figure of Johannes Gutenberg. In his hand he holds his most famous cannon created with the help of the printing press he invented. On the left side we can see the aforementioned printing press. In turn, the background is covered with the printing font used by the machine. On the obverse, as in the rest of the coins in the series, we see a woman holding the coat of arms of Niue, where the currency is a full-fledged legal tender with a denomination of 2 NZD.
