Alkonost is a legendary creature from Slavic beliefs, having the body of a bird and the face of a woman. Her singing is so mesmerizing that it can put listeners into a state of bliss or total oblivion. She often symbolizes happiness and paradisiacal life, although she is also sometimes a harbinger of impending changes in the weather. According to legends, her flight over water can bring storm or calm, depending on the circumstances. In iconography, Alkonost often appears alongside other magical birds, such as the Gamayun or Siren.

The reverse shows us a silhouette of Alkonost hiding in a forest tree. She is distinguished by large, ornate earrings and a striking necklace. Her body flows seamlessly into majestic bird wings, full of finely shaped feathers of unique texture.
