Witchcraft Silver Coin: Medium 2026 BU, 1 ounce

The series is dedicated to Germanic sorceresses, and the mintage of each coin is limited to 10,000 pieces.

The 2026 Witchcraft: Medium 1 oz Silver BU coin is the third installment in Germania Mint’s unique Witchcraft series, dedicated to mysterious women associated with ancient beliefs, magic, and the supernatural world. The next heroine in the collection represents the figure of a medium—a woman endowed with the extraordinary ability to communicate with spirits and penetrate a reality inaccessible to ordinary mortals. In Germanic traditions, such figures served as intermediaries between the worlds of the living and the dead, interpreted mysterious signs, conveyed messages from the afterlife, and sought answers to questions about fate and transience. Her mystical power stems from ancient rituals, a spiritual connection to nature, and knowledge of secrets that have inspired both fascination and unease for centuries. The Medium’s constant companion is Ratatosk—an extraordinary squirrel from Norse mythology who traverses the branches of Yggdrasil and carries messages between the inhabitants of the World Tree. Her presence serves as a reference to the mythological universe that connects all previous releases in the series.

The obverse design is rich in symbolic details that highlight the unique character of the figure depicted. The figure has her eyes covered, which can be interpreted as a severing of ties with the material world, protection against evil forces, and a focus on the spiritual dimension of reality. On her chest is the infinity symbol, representing the unbroken cycle of life and death and existence beyond the bounds of time. Bone ornaments shaped like crescent moons lend the composition a mystical character, and the lantern at her side, adorned with runic symbols, symbolizes the light that guides through the darkness and protects against dangers. The belt, adorned with badger remains, evokes qualities such as courage, perseverance, and wisdom, while the skull she holds in her hand serves as a reminder of the inevitability of transience and the possibility of rebirth. Each of these elements weaves a cohesive narrative about a woman whose knowledge transcends the boundaries of human understanding.

The reverse of the coin retains the distinctive style of the Germania Mint, combining rich symbolism with the dark aesthetics of Germanic legends. The central element of the composition is a skull surrounded by bones, over which a two-headed eagle—the mint’s distinctive symbol—soars. Dragons are placed on both sides; their presence alludes to the realm of the dead and the mysteries hidden beyond the world of the living. The design is complemented by runes, which refer to ancient beliefs and symbolism of protection, strength, and spiritual guidance. Thanks to its numerous details and consistent stylistic approach, the coin offers yet another fascinating interpretation of the Germanic world of magic, while also serving as an important addition to the Witchcraft collection.
