A colorized edition of the popular silver medal.

The featured medal is the third installment of a highly regarded Polish issue in a series dedicated to the Hussars. The collection pays tribute to the famous heavy-armed cavalry that gained an international reputation. The Hussars were an elite military unit of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the 16th and 17th centuries. Its soldiers, the hussars, were distinguished not only by their excellent training, but also by their courage, maneuverability and extraordinary combat effectiveness. Their dynamic charges often tipped the scales of victory in favor of the Polish army. The success of the hussars was due to their excellent preparation, superbly developed tactics and iron discipline.

The reverse of the silver medal depicts a hussar in the midst of an attack as he assaults the enemy with his saber raised. On the right side is a four-armed cross, and right next to it is the name of the series along with the next edition number. On the obverse, the central position is occupied by the emblem of the Republic of Poland, while the symbolic denomination - 1 Polish Grosz - is placed at the bottom.
