The series of silver coins featuring the Australian eagle got its start in 2014. The featured coin was issued to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this popular series dedicated to the Australian continent's largest bird of prey. It is one of Australia's national symbols, appearing on the flag, state signs or coins. Adult individuals can reach a wingspan of up to 2.2 meters. It feeds mainly on fish, although it also hunts other aquatic animals and birds. The Australian eagle is currently under protection, as its population is declining due to habitat loss and pollution.

The reverse of this silver coin shows us the silhouette of a flying eagle with its wings spread wide. The whole is placed on a background symbolizing the sun. At the very top there is information about the anniversary edition, while the name of the coin's series is placed at the very bottom. The obverse shows the left profile of King Charles III along with the denomination of one Australian dollar.
