The kookaburra, thanks precisely to silver coins with its likeness, has become an almost iconic bird inextricably associated with Australia. The bird also has an important place in Australia's Aboriginal culture. In many Aboriginal myths and stories, the kookaburra is often depicted as a figure with powerful magical powers and supernatural abilities. Because of their interesting appearance and distinctive sound, the kookaburra is often appreciated by locals and foreigners who visit "kangaroo island."

The reverse of the silver coin invariably presents us with a kookaburra, but in a different situation every year. On the 2024 coin, we see this bird in flight, holding a snake in its talons. At the top is the name of the coin, and on the left is the year of issue and technical specifications. The obverse shows the left profile of King Charles - this is the first issue of the Australian Kookaburra with the image of this ruler.
