This is the seventh installment of this hugely popular series from Perth Mint.
The Australian Eagle is another extremely interesting and distinctive inhabitant of the Australian continent. This bird is characterized by its impressive size and distinctive plumage. Adult individuals have a white head, tail and back, while the rest of the body is mainly brown. The wings have bright spots, which are visible both in flight and when the bird is sitting. Young Australian eagles are more uniformly brown and acquire white plumage gradually over several years.
On the reverse of the coin issued in 2020, we are shown an Australian eagle in flight with its talons extended forward. This predator is preparing to attack and seize its prey. In the rim of the coin we have the English name of the animal, slightly below it is the year of issue, as well as the weight and silver content of the coin. On the obverse of the coin we see a portrait of Queen Elizabeth the Second along with the denomination - 1 AUD.
