The second installment of the Goddesses series this time with the image of the goddess Eos.

Eos was described as a beautiful goddess with golden wings. She also had a pink gown that symbolized the sunrise. Every morning, Eos rode into the sky in her chariot, releasing her winged horses, which pulled the sun over the horizon, starting a new day. Eos was also known for her love of young men, with whom she had numerous affairs. Her most famous lover was Tithonos, whom Zeus endowed with immortality, but forgot to give him eternal youth. Tithonos grew older and older, and Eos could not leave him. Eventually Zeus transformed him into a cricket.

The reverse of this silver investment coin shows us the goddess Eos. She is speeding through the sky in her chariot harnessed to three horses, with the rising sun visible below. The name of the goddess is placed at the top. The obverse presents us with the left profile of King Charles II, the formal ruler of the island of St. Helena, where the coin is legal tender with a denomination of £5. We also see here the stated year 2023 in which the coin was issued.
