The silver cylinder is inspired by the fourth-ranked Year of the Rabbit

The Chinese lunar calendar is divided into 12 cycles, each lasting 12 years. Each of the individual years is patronized by a different animal. The year 2023 has a rabbit as its patron saint. According to Chinese tradition, people born in this year a conflict-free and honest. They are characterized by high sensitivity, empathy and openness to other people. People from the year of the rabbit do not like to make any decisions, and above all they value calmness and prudence.

On the reverse of this silver bullion coin we see a rabbit sitting on the ground in a clump of grass. The right side features the Chinese symbol for the year of the rabbit, with the P100 designation slightly below it, referring to the mint's 100th anniversary. In the right part we find the year of issue, while at the bottom we find the weight and test of silver. The obverse shows the right profile of Queen Elizabeth II, along with information about the denomination of 1 Australian dollar.
