British Antarctic Territory Penguins 2023, 1 oz Silver Coin

The silver coin with the image of the two emperor penguins was issued in an edition of 10,000 pieces.

The British Arctic Territory does not exist as a separate administrative territory. However, the UK has areas in the Arctic that fall under its jurisdiction. There are 3 areas under the UK; the Svalbard Islands, the British Antarctic Territory and the South Shetland Islands. The Arctic is a region divided by various countries, such as Norway, Russia, Canada, the United States and others. Many of these countries have their own areas or territorial claims due to its natural resources and strategic location.

A series of silver values has been dedicated to one of the Arctic's inhabitants - the emperor penguin. It is the largest living species of penguin, reaching about 100 cm and weighing up to 45 kg. The reverse shows us a pair of these birds in the snowy Arctic terrain. At the top we see the name of the animal, while at the bottom we see the denomination. The obverse shows us a portrait of King Charles III, without a crown, clad in a suit, along with the date of issue.
