Germania Beasts: Sleipnir 2026 UHR Silver Coin, 2 ounces

A silver collector's coin issued by Germania Mint in a mintage of 999 pieces.

Sleipnir, the subject of Germania Mint’s latest issue, is one of the most recognizable symbols of Norse mythology. The legendary eight-legged horse belonged to Odin and was famous for its extraordinary speed and ability to traverse all worlds—from the earth, through the heavens, to the realm of the dead. According to ancient accounts, he was the son of Loki, who took the form of a mare, and the mighty stallion Svaðilfari. Thanks to his extraordinary lineage and supernatural abilities, Sleipnir became a symbol of strength, perseverance, courage, and divine power.

The obverse of the coin depicts the majestic head and front portion of the legendary steed’s silhouette. The four visible legs, flowing mane, and richly decorated harness create a composition full of energy and movement. Precisely crafted reliefs and intricate ornaments highlight Sleipnir’s unique character, lending the entire design a monumental and almost mystical quality. The reverse depicts the rear portion of the mythical horse’s body. Another four legs complete its distinctive eight-legged silhouette, and the dynamic pose gives the impression that Sleipnir is galloping with extraordinary lightness between the worlds of humans and gods. The background is adorned with the Germania Mint’s emblem—a double-headed eagle—which is an integral part of the series and underscores its cohesive, collectible character.
