Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Copper Medal , 1 oz.
Apollo 11 50th Anniversary copper medal with a 999. and 1 oz. weight (AVPD).
An increasingly popular form of investment in precious metals in the form of a copper disc.
Apollo 11 was the first space mission to get humans to the surface of the moon. The mission was carried out by NASA and took place in July 1969. On July 20 of the same year, Neil Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the moon, uttering the famous words: "It's a small step for man, but a giant leap for mankind." Along with him, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin worked on the surface of the Silver Globe, while Michael Collins remained in lunar orbit in the command module. The mission was successful, symbolizing the technological and scientific achievements of mankind and representing an important moment in the space race between the US and USSR.
The reverse of the copper medal presents us with the figure of Neil Armstrong standing on the surface of the silver globe next to the American flag and lander. At the top is the name of the mission, and at the very bottom is the date of the moon landing. On the back we see the moon placed with the number 11 superimposed on it. Around it is an inscription with Neil Armstrong's famous quote, as well as the weight and copper purity test of the medal is given.
