Copper Round John F. Kennedy, 1 oz.
One of the most popular American designs of the copper version.
The copper medal is an interesting option for precious metals investors and enthusiasts alike.
The medal, made of copper, very faithfully reproduces the last American half-dollar made of silver. The coin was first minted in 1964 to commemorate the assassinated 35th President of the United States. The use of existing works by mint sculptors Gilroy Roberts and Frank Gasparro allowed the dies to be prepared quickly, and minting of the new coins began in January 1964. When released in March 1964, the silver coins were bought in large numbers by collectors and those interested in memorabilia of the late president. Although the mint significantly increased production, the denomination rarely appeared in circulation.
The obverse of the copper medal is basically a faithful copy of the 1964 coin. It shows the left profile of John F. Kennedy, surrounded by the inscription Liberty. At the bottom is placed the American motto In God we Trust. At the very bottom is the date of issue. The reverse shows the American emblem, an eagle with a coat of arms placed on its chest. It holds in its talons. At the very top is the name of the issuing country. And at the bottom is the weight of the medal, as well as an indication of the copper content of the alloy.
