Copper Round Standing Liberty, 1 oz.
Copper medal with an image of Standing Liberty.
The medal is inspired by silver quarters from the early 19th century.
The Standing Liberty quarter is a 25-cent coin minted by the United States Mint between 1916 and 1930, replacing the Barber quarter, which had been minted since 1892. The coin depicts the Goddess of Liberty on one side and an eagle in flight on the other, and was designed by American sculptor Hermon Atkins MacNeil. In 1915, mint director Robert W. Woolley launched an effort to replace the Barber dime, quarter and half-dollar, as he mistakenly believed that the law required new designs.
The obverse shows us one of the most recognizable American symbols we can find on coins. Here we see the goddess Standing Liberty, or Standing Liberty. In her left hand she holds a shield, while in her right hand she holds an olive branch. The reverse depicts an American shield along with eagle wings. Above it is the American flag. Around it is placed the medal's weight of 1 ounce AVPD, or 28.35 grams, and at the very top is the copper purity test.
