TheMayan calendar is one of the first calendars dividing the year into 365 days.

The Mayan calendar was one of the calendars used by the Mayan civilization in Mesoamerica. It consisted of three numbers written in a decimal counting system. The first number represented the day, the second the month and the third the year. The Maya had two different calendars, called Tzolk'in and Haab', which they combined into one cyclical calendar every 52 years, called the Great Cycle.

On the obverse we see a kneeling warrior carrying a stone on his back with an inscription marking the day. Around the figure are hieroglyphs symbolizing all 20 names of the days in its sequence. The reverse shows a pictogram signifying the sun. The bottom o shows an infromation about the weight of the medal and the copper content of its alloy.
