Myths & Legends: King Arthur 2022, 1 oz Silver Coin

Introducing the fourth silver coin in a series devoted to characters from English legends.

Myths & Legends is an increasingly popular series of silver coins dedicated to characters from English folklore. So far, we've featured Robin Hood, Lady Marion and Little John. Another, the fourth coin was dedicated to the legendary ruler of the Britons - King Arthur. There are many indications that he was a figure existing only in legends, no less he inscribed himself as a great and just ruler, founder of the Brotherhood of the Knights of the Round Table wrecked with whom he sought the Holy Grail.

The reverse of the silver coin presents the figure of King Arthur Pendragon, holding with both hands the legendary sword Excalibur, a gift from the Lady of the Lake. He is clad in a royal robe flapping in the wind, while on his head he wears a crown. In the background you can see his headquarters, Camelot Castle. The obverse of the silver coin features an image of Queen Elizabeth II, specifically her right profile. The coin is official legal tender in the British Isles, and its denomination is £2.
