Caribbean Octopus, Barbados 2022, 1 oz Silver Coin
The latest installment of the Caribbean Series featuring an image of a Caribbean octopus.
The Caribbean Octopus silver coin features a low mintage limited to only 7,000 copies.
The series on Caribbean flora has quickly gained popularity among many investors and collectors. The collection includes coins with images of seahorses, pelicans and the featured Caribbean octopus. Octopuses are characterized by exceptional agility, intelligence and speed. To date, some 300 species of this unique creature have been discovered. An octopus fresh from birth does not exceed the size of a flea, but adults of some species can reach an arm span of more than 4 meters.
The reverse of the presented bullion coin depicts an octopus surrounding a rim with its tentacles. The rim bears the inscription "CARIBBEAN OCTOPUS" as well as information on the coin's weight and bullion sample. In the background behind the creature one notices vegetation, which is part of the Caribbean fauna. The coin's obverse is adorned with the coat of arms of the country of Barbados, for which the coin is the official means of payment.
