The series depicts images of the largest animals living on Earth at the time of the Great Glaciation.

The Ice Age Giants series was launched in 2019. The broadcast plan called for 8 issues to be released every six months. The project went as planned, so today we are pleased to present the eighth coin of this unique series dedicated to prehistory.

The presented silver investment coin depicts the image of a cave lion - a predator considered to be the largest representative of the feline family that has ever roamed our planet. Sowing fear in prehistoric times, the animal is considered the ancestor of modern lions and tigers. In the background can be seen a mountainous landscape of the natural habitat of this predatory cat. The rim of the reverse featured the date of the silver coin - 2022 - as well as small graphics symbolizing each of the previous editions of the series. On the reverse we see the national coat of arms of Ghana, where the coin is legal tender.
