200 zł Silver Coin: 30th Anniversary of the Victory over Fascism, 1975, 14.5 grams

Silver circulation coins are an interesting alternative to popular bullion coins.

The 200-złoty coin from 1975 was issued to mark the 30th anniversary of the victory over fascism, commemorating the end of World War II in Europe in 1945. It was struck at the State Mint in Warsaw based on a design by Stanisława Wątróbska-Frindt. The obverse features the emblem of the Polish People’s Republic, the year of issue, and the denomination. The reverse depicts the heads of two soldiers—a Soviet soldier wearing a helmet and a Polish soldier wearing a rogatywka—accompanied by the inscription “XXX ROCZNICA ZWYCIĘSTWA NAD FASZYZMEM” and the dates 1945–1975. The coin is made of 750-fine silver, weighs approximately 14.47 g, and has a diameter of 31 mm. It is an interesting example of Polish commemorative coinage from the People’s Republic of Poland era, combining historical and numismatic value.
