The Australian Eagle is another Perth-minted coin series inspired by Australia's natural environment.

The Wedge-tailed Eagle is another interesting bullion coin from Australia's oldest mint. The Australian Eagle, to which the collection is dedicated, is Australia's largest bird of prey and one of the largest eagles in the world. With its limited mintage of 50,000, the coins in this series are well-liked by collectors.

The reverse of the coin changes every year and depicts the Australian eagle. The latest edition shows the bird's head in detail, with its characteristic sharply curved downward beak. In the rim, near the top edge was an inscription with the name of the series: the Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle, and below it the year of the coin's mintage, its weight and the silver sample. The obverse of the coin, is standard for the Perth mint, an image of Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination - 1 AUD.
