Indian Wildlife: Tiger 2019, 1 oz Silver Coin

Tiger is a coin dedicated to the wildlife of India in the Indian Wildlife series .

We present the first installment of the series dedicated to Indian wildlife. The Asiatic tiger is depicted on the coin. It is one of the subspecies of tiger, being the largest modern cat in the world. It was originally found in Siberia, North Korea and northeastern China. Asian tigers are threatened with extinction mainly due to habitat loss, poaching, because of their valuable fur and other body parts used in traditional medicine, and conflicts with humans. These animals are an important part of the ecosystem and play a key role in maintaining environmental balance.

On the reverse of the investment coin, the Asian tiger is depicted in a frontal majestic pose. It was placed on a decorative rhomboid background. Around the coin there is information about the weight and the type of bullion from which the coin was made. The CASH inscription visible at the top is a reference to the currency units used in India during British rule. The obverse shows the royal profile of Elizabeth II along with the year of issue and the denomination.
