The series has a limited print run of only 15,000 copies.

The Smurfs were created by Belgian cartoonist Pierre Culliford, known by his pen name Peyo. They made their comic book debut in 1958, and have since gained enormous popularity around the world. Smurfs are small creatures with blue skin, wearing white caps and pants. They live in a village hidden deep in the forest and are known for their cheerful nature and friendliness towards each other. Each Smurf has his own personality and role in the community, which is often defined by his name, such as Smurf Sleepy, Smurf Worker, Smurf Clumsy or Smurfette.

On the reverse side, we can see the Smurf figure, which looks as if it is leaning out to us from behind a wall. On the lower left is the signature of the comic's author, Peyo. On the right, on a plain background, we see the number 65 referring to the anniversary of the series' creation. The numeral was created from two smurf heads placed side by side. The obverse in the center depicts the Niue coat of arms, with the date of issue and the inscription SMURFS below. Around it we can see placed small mushrooms, which, according to the comic, served the Smurfs as houses.
