This internationally recognized coin made its debut on the precious metals market in 2007. This collection, like many others issued by Perth Mint, is inspired by Australia's unique fauna, specifically the friendly koalas. A distinctive feature of the series is the image on the reverse, which changes each year.
The reverse of the featured 2008 silver investment coin presents us with two koala bears, a large one, along with a cub that sits on its back. He is holding on to a branch, and the whole scene is depicted on an undulating background. At the very bottom are the weight and silver content of the currency. The obverse shows us the right profile of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the year of issue and the denomination.
