The coin series is inspired by the world of cyberpunk. Cyberpunk is a science fiction genre that focuses on depicting a future world, usually set in dystopian realities, where technology plays a key role. The world of cyberpunk often features advanced technology, such as artificial intelligence, cybernetics, implanted devices, augmented reality and genetic manipulation. Society tends to be divided between rich and poor, where multinational corporations wield enormous power, and crime and corruption are commonplace.

The reverse of the silver coin in the foreground shows us the profile of a man's face. However, this is no ordinary man, it shows numerous cybernetic inserts and implants. Three sizable scars run across his left eye. In the background we see a fragment of a futuristic city consisting of mere skyscrapers, with a flying ship hovering above. The obverse shows us a similar image of the city of the future, depicted as a huge metropolis. It features the Niue emblem along with the denomination and date of issue.
