A valet referring to one of the most famous WWII ships.
USS Missouri (BB-63) is an American battleship of the Iowa type, launched in 1944. It participated in hostilities during World War II, and on its deck the act of surrender of Japan was signed on September 2, 1945, ending the war in the Pacific. After the war, it served in the Korean War and was withdrawn from service in 1955, but was reactivated in the 1980s. It took part in Operation Desert Storm in 1991, after which it was finally withdrawn from service. It is currently a museum in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
On the reverse of the copper medal we see the battleship USS Missouri depicted, at the top we see the inscription US NAVY, while below the ship we see the name of the unit, along with its humorous name Big Mo. Below that we see the weight of the coin, along with an indication of copper purity. The obverse of the coin shows an American eagle holding olive branches in its talons along with arrows.
