In Norse mythology, the Great Eagle, also known as Hraesvalgr, is a majestic bird with powerful wings, symbolizing the power of nature and connection to the cosmic order. It is also a symbol of great knowledge. With the blast of its wings, the bird caused winds to arise over the worlds. The Great Eagle is often described as a guardian and watcher, whose powerful wings spread out, directing the wind and influencing the otherworldly realms of life. Creation is identified with the nature of transformation and rebirth.

The reverse of the presented copper medal depicts the magnificent Great Eagle, sitting on the Yggdrasil tree. The creature is greeted by the squirrel Ratatosk, who is the messenger between the eagle and the serpent that lives at the foot of the tree. A seated hawk is spotted on its head. On the reverse of the coin is an image of the huge Yggdrasil tree - the roots of the world. This tree is also home to an eagle. Next to the tree we will see a deer, which has a healing touch. By the roots lurks a watching snake.
