Lincoln Penny Copper Round, 1 oz.
Medal with the figure of the 16th President of the United States.
The copper medal is an interesting option for precious metals investors and enthusiasts alike.
The copper medal refers to the old one-cent coin issued between 1909 and 1958. Designed by David Brenner, the coin is called the Linncoln Penny or Wheat Penny, meaning wheat penny. The term refers to the 2 ears of wheat on the reverse. All coins minted by the U.S. government worth 1⁄100 of a dollar are called pennies, because the United States has always determined the denomination using decimal fractions. The nickname penny is a remnant of coins minted in England, which switched to decimal coins in 1971.
On the obverse of the copper coinage we see a classic portrait of Abraham Lincoln, exactly like the one on the original coin. The rest of the elements taken from the original, the sentence at the top and the Liberty inscription on the left, can also be seen here. The only difference here is the privy mark of the 9Fine mint. The reverse, on the other hand, also strongly resembles the original, here we have two ears of wheat, with the difference that the inscription One Cent has been replaced with One Ounce.
