Srebrna Samoa Serpent of Milan 2020 1 coin 1 oz
Silver coin in a small mintage of 15,000 copies.
Serpent of Milan is a value proposition from Scottsdale Mint.
The Serpent of Milan originated in medieval Italy. The symbol is the emblem of the Visconti family of Italy. The House of Visconti was founded in 1075, and ruled the city of Milan from 1277 to 1447, first, as lords, then as dukes. To this day, the Milanese serpent remains closely associated with the city of Milan. It depicts the image of a man-eating snake; according to legend, it was originally a dragon, terrorizing Milan, killed by the ancestors of the Visconsi family.
The reverse shows the aforementioned snake of Milan devouring a small man. The edge of the coin is richly decorated in patterns resembling dragon scales. The obverse depicts the coat of arms of the State for which the currency was issued - Samoa. The upper part shows the inscription SAMOA and the date of issue. In the lower denomination markings - 2 Samoan Tale - the coin is legal tender of the country.
