A silver investment coin with the motif of a lion - one of the representatives of the "Big Five" - is the first issue of the new Big Five series.

The Big Five African Animals series is inspired by the animal kingdom of Africa, which includes - elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard and lion, to which the featured coin is dedicated. The Big Five got their name many years ago thanks to hunters and poachers, for whom the animals became targets of attacks. The creatures, thanks to their natural conditions such as huge size, strength and agility, were extremely difficult for their trackers to hunt.
The reverse of the depicted investment coin is decorated with a lion's head stylized on an African mask. On the rim around it are arranged African designs, next to which the inscription "LION" and the denomination of $1 are engraved. The obverse of the coin presents the national emblem developed by the Collage of Arms for Sierra Leone, a country located in West Africa.
