Beasts of the Tudors is the successor to the Queen's Beasts series, which was popular in previous years.
It was launched to commemorate the 65th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation in 2018. The series was a huge success and many investors regretted that it had come to an end. However, the British Royal Mint decided to fill this void and, without waiting too long, launched another series of coins with similar characteristics. We are pleased to present the Tudor Beasts.
The first bullion coin in the series is the Lion of England symbolizing British courage, strength and pride. The animal has been a symbol of England since the very beginning of the country's coat of arms. The reverse of the coin shows a modern interpretation of the beast supporting the shield of the coat of arms. The rim shows the inscription "Lion of England," the weight of the coin and the sample of silver used in production. The obverse features the figure of Queen Elizabeth II and the coin's denomination - 5 British pounds (GBP).
