Little John is the hero of the third bullion coin in the series produced by The Royal Mint.

The theme of the collection from the British Royal Mint is English legends and myths - fictional heroes who appeared in medieval stories and accounts. The series opened with a coin with the image of Robin Hood - a British rogue who, along with his band, was said to reside in Sherwood Forest. One of the members of this gang was precisely Little John - called so perversely because of his powerful figure.

On the reverse of this silver bullion coin we find the figure of Little John, holding a long stick in his hands, which he used to overpower his opponents. The man stands amidst the trees and dense thickets of Sherwood Forest. On the obverse of the coin you will find an image of Queen Elizabeth II, specifically her right profile. As the official legal tender of the United Kingdom, the coin carries a denomination of 2 British pounds.
