Silver Nautical Ounce Coin: Kruzenshtern 2026, 1/12 ounce
Nautical Ounce is a series inspired by famous vessels.
The silver coin presented here was issued in a weight of 1/12 ounce.
The sailing ship "Kruzenshtern" is a four-masted barque built in 1926 in Germany under the name "Padua." After World War II, the ship was transferred to the Soviet Union and named after the Russian explorer Ivan Kruzenshtern. The vessel is over 114 meters long and is one of the largest sailing training ships in the world. Cadets from maritime academies train on board, learning traditional sailing and navigation skills. The Kruzenshtern regularly participates in the international Tall Ships Races and visits ports in many countries, including Poland. Despite its venerable age, the ship remains a symbol of maritime tradition and attracts thousands of visitors.
The reverse of the silver bullion coin features a detailed image of the Kruzenshtern sailing on the waves. The coin's design is enriched with elements stylized on maritime motifs, such as a decorative wind rose symbolizing the directions of the world. The name of the collection, the year of issue, the weight, and the silver fineness are inscribed on the coin's edge. The name of the ship is inscribed on the lower edge of the reverse. The obverse of the coin features the national coat of arms of Rwanda, the country issuing the coin, which has a face value of 10 Rwandan francs and is legal tender.
