Silver circulation coins combine bullion value with numismatic history.

The 2.5 guilder coin is an exceptional example of classic Dutch numismatics of the second half of the 20th century. Minted between 1959 and 1966 by the Royal Netherlands Mint (Koninklijke Nederlandse Munt), it was the highest silver denomination in circulation in the post-war period. The coin was made of sterling silver, weighed 15 grams and had a diameter of 33 mm. The coin served as a valuable means of payment, and its elegant, classic appearance has made it highly regarded among collectors to this day. Copies in mint condition (UNC) or struck with a mirror stamp (proof) are particularly prized on the market. Due to its silver content and relatively short period of issue, the 1959-1966 2.5 guilder coin is an interesting choice for investors and enthusiasts of Western European monetary history. Its classic appearance, solid bullion value and association with the period of post-war stability make it one of the more representative silver coins in the history of Dutch numismatics.

The coin's obverse is decorated with the profile of Queen Juliana (Juliana Regina), who reigned in the Netherlands from 1948 to 1980. Her image is surrounded by the inscription "JULIANA KONINGIN DER NEDERLANDEN." The reverse depicts the coat of arms of the Kingdom of the Netherlands - a lion with a sword and arrows in a shield, surmounted by a royal crown. Next to it is the denomination "2 ½ G" and the year of issue, and in the rim is the inscription "MUNT VAN HET KONINKRIJK DER NEDERLANDEN". (coin of the Kingdom of the Netherlands).
