WMF 2023 Somali Elephant Silver Coin, 1 oz.

The Somali Elephant is part of the "African Wildlife" collection, inspired by wild animals found in Africa.

We present a special edition of the popular Somali Elephant issued on the occasion of the WMF fair taking place in Berlin. The World Money Fair is one of the largest and most prestigious international numismatic events in the world. It is held annually in Berlin, usually in early February. The fair attracts coin collectors, dealers, representatives of mints and financial institutions from all over the world. The World Money Fair is an excellent opportunity for numismatic enthusiasts to expand their collections, gain new knowledge and network with other numismatic enthusiasts.

The obverse of the coin depicts the Somali coat of arms - two leopards supporting a shield with a star in the center. It also features the coin's denomination - 100 Somali shillings (SOS), the minting year and the inscription "Somali Republic." The reverse of the coin shows the silhouette of an adult elephant reaching with its trunk to a tree branch. In the background we see the landscape of the African savannah illuminated by the sun's rays. Above, an inscription describing the collection - "African Wildlife" and below it the weight and sample of the coin. Also placed here is a small privy mark with information about the commemorative edition of the popular coin.
