The dragon is one of the twelve animals of the animal cycle that appear in the Chinese calendar. Each animal represents one year in a twelve-year cycle, which reflects the combination of cosmic variables in Chinese astrology. The year of the dragon is considered particularly auspicious and associated with powerful forces. People born in the year of the dragon are often described as courageous, energetic, intelligent and charismatic. The dragon also symbolizes power, strength and prosperity in Chinese culture.

The reverse of the silver cylinder shows us a Chinese dragon writhing against a clouded sky. A stream of fire comes out of its mouth.
