Giants of the Ice Age: Jeleń 2019, 1 oz Silver Coin

The collection is dedicated to the largest animals that lived during the Ice Age.

The second coin in the series introduces us to the silhouette of Megaloceros giganteus known as the "Giant Deer." This was a prehistoric species of giant deer that lived during the Pleistocene. Its distinctive feature was its large and impressive antlers. Many people associate them with the times of the Ice Age, when these majestic animals roamed the lands of today's Europe. These deer were characterized by huge branching antlers that could reach up to 3.5 meters in span. They were among the largest land mammals of their time.

The reverse of this silver investment coin shows an image of a giant deer displaying its impressive antlers. In the background we see a lowland grassy landscape with a small lake. The rim of the reverse features the coin's issue date - 2019 - and pictograms symbolizing each of the successive issues of the collection. On the reverse we see the national coat of arms of Ghana, where the coin is legal tender.
