Una and the Lion 2023, 2 oz Silver Coin

A British East India Company coin with an edition limited to only 1,000 pieces.

The collection, inspired by Edmund Spenser's novel, was launched in 2020 and very quickly gained interest among collectors and investors. The theme of the silver coin is the story of a beautiful princess and a knight of the Order of the Red Cross as depicted in the novel "The Queen's Bard." The reading is the most extensive work in verse in English literature. The 2 troy ounce coin features a very low mintage limited to 1,000 copies, making it of great collector value.

The reverse of the bullion coin depicts the figure of the beautiful Una, whose company is kept by a lion. The heroine, wearing a loose dress with flowing hair, holds a spear in her right hand, while her left hand embraces the lion. Next to the figure we notice vegetation swirling around and the rising sun. In the rim we can read information about the name of the series, date of issue, bullion sample and weight of the coin. The obverse of the coin presents a portrait of King Charles III, next to which is the denomination of 2 pounds.
